It is not only the market but also a place for trading and exchanging local goods and products, as well as a meeting place for young people who seek partners by singing love songs, playing pan-pipes and mouth organs.

Night 1: night train to Lao Cai Station (C,G)    

South Pacific Travel"s bus and guide will pick you up at your hotel and transfer you for the overnight train to Lao Cai Station. Enjoy the experience the romance of overnight train travel
Summary: Visit: Amazing Cave.
Kayaking: 1,5hrs.

Day 1 Saturday: Lao Cai – Bac Ha – Can Cau – Bac Ha (B, L,D):

Arrive in Lao Cai Station do a little bit morning exercise, feel ready for our trip. Our guide with the board under your name welcome you and pick you up at Lao Cai station. On the way we will stop for breakfast and then transfer to Bac Ha Market which is 70 km Northeast of Lao Cai.
The ride is relatively flat from Lao Cai to Bao Nhai, where you will be taken through rural area. Situated in the mountains in border area, 20 km from Bac Ha, Can Cau is a small, but very colorful market.
In the afternoon, you will take a walk to Ban Pho village of Nung and Flower Hmong , which is located in a small valley. The villagers grow vegetables and fruit trees. One of the most famous fruits of the area is plum. You will go back to the hotel late in the afternoon and then have dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 2 Sunday: Bac Ha – Trung Do – boat trip to Coc Ly – Lao Cai (B, L):

After having a morning coffee, you take a short walk to visit the old castle of the former Hmong King. From there you can have a view over the town. You will then visit the huge market of Bac Ha with its colorful array of ethnic minority people such as Flower Hmong, Phu La, Black Dao, Tay , Nung who gather to buy and sell. After spending the whole morning exploring the market, your lunch will be served in a local restaurant.
After lunch, you drive downhill for about half an hour then start a short walk to Trung Do village, which belongs to the Tay minority . Here you can visit a traditional Tay house, before getting on a boat. You will have a cruise upstream the Chay River to experience the picturesque scenes on the river banks. You will then cruise down stream to the Bao Nhai Bridge , where you get on the car for the journey back

Day 3: Arrive back to Hanoi :

You will arrive in Hanoi Station at around 5h30. Our tour finishes.
Tour prices include: Breakfast and accommodation 1 night a twin or double sharing cabin, 1night in the hotel.
Pick-up and transfer by A/C vehicle.
English speaking tour guide.
Entrance fees.
Kayaking, life jacket, water proof bags, complimentary glass of wine, fresh fruit.

Attention:

The trips to ethnic minority markets must be on Saturday (Can Cau market) and Sunday (Bac Ha Market). The trip is based on the day of arrival/ departure of the night train to/ from Hanoi . Departure time from Sapa should be no later than 8:00.

The trekking day:
A typical trekking day start at about 8.30 am after breakfast. Lunch times can vary depending on the terrain. We aim to reach the next overnight stop by 4.30 or 5. During the trek we will have short breaks for rest, snack and photographing.
 
Food:

All meals which are indicated in the itinerary, are included in the price of this trip. Picnic lunch would be prepared by a local restaurant. The emphasis will be on healthy and nutritious fresh local produce. Please inform us if you have any special dietary requirement.

The transfers:

In Hanoi, Our guide will accompany you to the train to show you your cabin and tell you how to deal with night train traveling in Vietnam.
In Lao Cai, our guide will meet you at Lao Cai Railway Station in the morning of the first day. He also sees you off at Lao Cai Railway Station on the third day.
When you get back to Hanoi on day 4, you can easily find a taxi to get to your hotel.

What to bring:

Trekking boot, sun block, hat, anti-insect repellent, sunglasses, rain coat, toiletries, original passport
